Hello and welcome to the
new look "Being Yourself For A
Living" newsletter. It co-incides with the
recent relaunch of my website.
The new BEntrepreneurING.com reflects
the current and exciting happenings in the
business and how it can benefit you. Take
a look!
DON'T
COMPROMISE
Compromise
means trouble. We are taught to do it as children for the sake of
society but
it has the effect of undermining our confidence, our sense of self, and
eventually our very being.
We reach adulthood encumbered and society suffers, so compromise
simply doesn't work. It looks logical but it serves no-one.
Compromise means the individual giving up something for the sake of the
group,
or for the other. It means giving up what is right for you in exchange
for
acceptance by people.
It means trading yourself for something you feel you need, like
acceptance. But
that acceptance is just an illusion because it is more about
controlling you
than accepting you.
Plus, the trade is far from fair. Selling your soul for acceptance?
Exchanging
the priceless for the cheap?
If others cannot accept you as you are, that is their problem. Being
unable to
accept stems from not accepting themselves, and is the root of misery
and
destruction. Acceptance of ourselves and one another, the way we are,
is the
beginning of real living and growth.
With acceptance we approach life the right way. We do not waste energy
resisting, we free up energy to be creative, and we live in gratitude
not
resentment. What we want and deserve comes to us easily and happily
rather than
us fighting for it from a place of discontent and aggression.
If you feel you need something that is worth giving up who you are for,
look
again. There is nothing worth that. Any need for acceptance is based on
insecurity and you can't fix that by belonging to a group. You can only
find
that by reconnecting with yourself.
Compromise disconnects you from yourself, the minute you do it and more
over
time. It may seem to be for the good of a relationship, business, or
society as a
whole, but it cannot be. Nothing that disconnects you from yourself can
lead
anywhere good.
Accept yourself. Love yourself. Be yourself. Follow your inner knowing.
From
there you bring who you are to the world in the right way, and that
spreads.
Mutual creation is the solution, not compromise.
Don't begin with the trade and try to define yourself from that, begin
with
being as you are, and were meant to be, and create the way forward
there. Be
your uniqueness and trust it.
Then
you are really giving your best, business is benefiting, and compromise
is not
in your language.
Then you are being yourself for a living.
QUOTE
"When the ties of learning and the chains of conditioning
that bind the human mind and heart again and again are loosened, and a
person is introduced finally to himself, the real self that has no
limitation, then the bells of heaven ring for joy and we are thrust
forward into a grand rendezvous with life." Eric
