POETRY IN
EVERYTHING
I have vivid, existential memories of my childhood, being at my
grandparents' home in Irene near Pretoria. It was so beautiful...
The garden is huge, green and flowered, the pool deep and blue. The
birds are varied and abundant, all there for the garden and the food my
gran puts our for them every dawn and tea time.
My gran is graceful and the air in her home cool and wise. My
grandfather has a high end hi-fi, his pipe, and wears a cravat. His
silent home chimes with punctuating clocks, matches being lit and
warm-voiced radio.
Life is so intensely beautiful, I am alive and free.
...Those feelings are here with me again today as I work, decades
later, filled with a moment even more blissful. My happiness knows no
bounds. I have gone into my joy and it is beaming out of me.
I am working through paperwork to give to my accountant. I am
meditating as I
do, acting and watching at the same time, doing and being a witness,
while music plays. I
am running the business, enjoying the day, and seeing so many things
about myself,
discovering who I am.
I am doing the opposite of something I don't want to do. I am following
the experience I knew as a child into the wonders of being a
self-actualising adult. I have never had time for any thing less. How
can we waste time on anything less?
Life is the most incredible joy. If you are not growing in this
appreciation, get back to yourself! Find your way home. Bring yourself to your work. The more you do, the more
there is to bring.
The more you are being yourself for a living, the more the leaves dance
on the
tress, the more everything vibrates with life, the more you feel the
poetry everywhere. Work becomes music. Music takes you deeper and
deeper.
Oh, the feeling! It's all feeling, opening your heart and letting your
being through. Feel more and more, with more and more of your boundless
being.
Yet be detached, just watching, relaxed and calm. Doing nothing against
yourself for any reason, truly letting yourself live as you are.
And the songs keep coming...
QUOTE
"Now we tread the fresh fields,
the higher ground and the summer slopes
that man may someday climb on.
We're on the heels of Rimbaud.
We are in the swing.
Chandelier-like dancing
and we feel everything.
High on the wine of life.
Untethered and free.
What spirit is man can be."
