Miles Keylock of
www.24.com interviewed the band in Cape Town in September,
and wrote an article called Black
Hotels: Heart Core,
which you can read here.
SL Magazine ran an
interview with us in their October issue and included our song Natalie on the free CD
accompanying the magazine. We also appeared in
Zoo and some local community
newspapers, and were interviewed on MK89, the music TV channel.
Our launch party for
our debut EP Beautiful
Mornings was wonderful and our music is now available in
stores around South Africa, and from www.musica.co.za
and www.lookandlisten.co.za
and www.kalahari.net.
Our first single Natalie was
playlisted on 5FM MUSIC and then hit
number 1
on the voting charts, staying there for 4 weeks running. It also made
number 1 on the
TUKS FM SA Charts, and has been played on various stations
around the country.
We will be playing a live set on 5FM MUSIC at 17h00 (GMT+2) on Saturday
27 October on the show Live@5. You can listen in from anywhere in the
world via their site www.5fm.co.za.
You can also join us in the studio audience if you are in town. Just be
at Radio Park reception at 16h30 and they will direct you to the Live @
5 studio. Please join us for this extraordinary experience!
On Thursday 1 November, on the same station, John and Lisa will be

CREATIVITY
I bumped into a corporate client at gym recently. He runs a subsidiary
of a listed company, has huge targets to meet (in thanks
for their success), and is in a generally tough industry (who isn't?).
They face re-structuring
themselves continuously on top of handling day to day thrills and
pressures.
He asked about workshops to help the 6 person management team see the
way forward, arrange
their resources optimally and work well together. He also wanted
personal help with his challenges as a leader.
He told me he is thriving on all the growth but that he is struggling
to sleep at night. I reflected for a moment then told
him it's because he's needs to do more.
One of the main reasons for insomnia is that there is unfinished
business bouncing around in your head. When you have lived to the full
in the day, you can sleep well at night. When you creativity has gone
somewhere worthwhile, you can rest, satisfied, and wake up fully
charged.
So I advised my client to start writing a book. He was talking about
all he is learning on the move, so I said he should start writing the
lessons down in a designated notepad. This will evolve
into a useful book.
The insights are there for good reason and writing them
into a book will mean they get addressed, which will take them off his
mind. I needn't spell out the other benefits...
