Just
keep being
yourself
Being
yourself elicits all sorts of reactions
in others: envy, short term
rejection, scapegoating... and, ultimately, great admiration, too.
This can elicit all sorts of reactions in you: hurt, anger,
self doubt... and, ultimately, it leads to great fulfilment.
The fulfilment does not come from anyone's admiration, though, it is authentic. So, just keep
being yourself!
What choice do you have? You are you. The
whole
made you this way, who are you to argue? How is trying to change going
to serve you?
No, just keep being yourself.
Do it lovingly, of
course, there
is no need to fight about it. Fighting isn't being yourself, anyway,
because inside you are alone and there is no-one to fight with.
Fighting with yourself weakens you and surrounds you with external
battles.
When you
are authentic, you have only love to give, albeit often assertively.
And, what is love if not first for yourself?
You don't have to trade being who you are and being loving for
functioning successfully. You can do both consistently and
deliver the goods. In fact, you can deliver no better than when your
being and your doing are congruent.
And be happy, for goodness sake!
Sure, it helps to be politically
astute. To function well in the business world, you need to be able to
deal with and operate
in a political
environment. But not at the expense of who you are.
You must be true
to yourself first and from there make your world work for you and the
greater good. No matter what
the odds against you may seem...
