Journey to the Core

An exciting new television series called Journey to the Core begins tonight,  Wednesday 11 March 2009, on SABC 3 at 21h30. It features input from various 'wisdom keepers', including me in a number of episodes.

Visit their site for programme info and contributor profiles here.

Zooming in on Men

That interview I mentioned last time did not screen as planned, owing to SABC's policy of complete chaos(!), but it is quite likely to go out this Sunday 15 March 2009, or next Sunday 22, at 14h30 on SABC 3. They interviewed me about balance.

My new book is set for release towards the end of April 2009. It is a follow up to INSIGHTS:

Insight is intelligence. Presence is power. Both are key to thriving in the new economy.

FURTHER INSIGHTS is the perfect companion for making the existential shift into being yourself for a living.

Supporting your spirit, validating your value, encouraging your authenticity.

Employment tables have turned

by Robin Wheeler

Most people approach new jobs with a feeling of deep-rooted inadequacy. You submit to employers who arrogantly regard themselves as the powerful party in the interview.

They see it as their place to assess your potential to meet their needs. Then they take advantage of you for profit, blocking your natural talents and urge to flourish.

Every person and company has idiosyncrasies and with a little wisdom you can live with and even enjoy these. But if your employer is arrogant, they are not wise and you are not wise to work for them.

I encourage you to approach jobs with the self-confidence you deserve. The tables have turned and it has become the responsibility of employers to make themselves appealing to you.

It is their business to be somewhere that someone of your value wants to work. They need to offer opportunities for you to manifest your potential. Do not be fooled into seeing it otherwise.

You need not become arrogant in return, just be real. Authenticity is inherently intelligent and of increasing worth in the awakening market.

You are unique and of value to the world. You deserve to be happy and fulfilled, and to self-actualise through your work. A career is not a compromise, now or ever, so do not settle for one that does not truly excite you.

How can the world be the wrong place for you? You may be out of alignment, which feels wrong, but you should be living your dreams and doing what you love for a living. Does the employer offer the opportunity to do that?

If not, let it pass and choose one that does. Be on the lookout for misuse of the subtlest kind. Tune in to how you feel in the interview and working environment and trust that. Do not go against yourself.

Choose business relationships that impress you. Be impressive. If that means starting your own business, face the facts and do it. You can.

The truth is that there is less talent than there is need for it, and you have the upper hand in the market. It is easy to find a hopeless soul to plug into a corporate machine but someone discerning and innovative is a prize.

Your particular offering is one of a kind and there is a perfect place for you to explore, express and share it. You need to find that place and, more important, you need to continually create it.

Do some soul searching, tap into your deepest inspiration, and then build your brand from within. Power is a few insights and some courageous action away.

Do what you love for the love of it. Satisfaction is built into what you are good at and enjoy. Be of service from a position of inspired resourcefulness. People will seek you out and money will follow.

Be happy and whole and live the life you choose. Invest enthusiastically in yourself and your relationships with people and the world as a whole, and everything will go increasingly well for you.

Align yourself with universal intelligence so that it may work through you uninhibited. Find the combined confidence and humility that come from being true to yourself.

Clear your inner landscape of self limiting assumptions sold to you by school and society. Awaken spiritually and allow the whole to take its natural course.

Empower yourself and be yourself for a living. It will grow your brand, benefit your employers and change the world.
