At the same time as publishing and then promoting my new book (more about that in a moment), I am facilitating and editing a book for a corporate client using my unique people development and branding tool called 'Fully Booked'.

This involves strategic consulting and then chapter development sessions, in which I help people conceptualise then write their section. I edit their writing and coach them through the process of their personal growth through becoming co-authors of a value adding book for staff and clients.

The insights I have about my writing, their writing and writing generally are remarkable. The book is about the outcome - a powerful read and outstanding marketing device - but it is about the process. It's about the growth of the people. There is no substitute for writing for publication about what you are good at and busy learning.

Which brings me to FURTHER INSIGHTS. Here is some inside information ...

From a technical point of view, I once again formatted and typeset the book myself, as I went along, so that took a lot of strain out of the preparation later on.

I worked with a cover designer this time, Ria Kraftt from Green Grass Design. It took time to adjust to having someone take over something so close to my heart and the book, but Ria's patience and talent produced a result I am happy to have people judge the book by!

The cover photo was taken by Johann Barnard, friend, writer, entrepreneur and talented photographer, who was generous and a pleasure to work with, and who produced an amazing batch of iconic shots in a short space of time.

Like with INSIGHTS, the book was proof-read by Valda Strauss, whose attention to detail, discerning linguistic skill, spiritual connection and insightful feedback I greatly appreciate.

I am very happy with the book. It is a progression from INSIGHTS. The content and my writing have both evolved, and the connection with the reader is deeper. The two books make a great package, so I feel good about that. It feels satisfying, too, to have grown and produced something beautiful.

There are more insights in the new book, eighty eight after fifty five in the first. So they are each quicker to read. They arose from my blog, which is designed to be short and sharp for online readers. This made the book easier to write and more poetic. The INSIGHTS format really works for me.

Although this is my fifth published book, and I am getting used to the intense and extensive journeys, I am still growing from them. The growth has changed. It builds on what I have experienced and takes me further, perhaps more so than the initial rite of passage, just differently.

And the arrival of the first copies was as moving as ever.

More so than ever, and with more grounded enthusiasm, I can recommend writing a book for deep personal and collective growth. Now that my latest is out in the world, I get to enjoy promoting it and letting it grow on its own. See you along the way ...
